Josh Kelley Loves Scarves
Singer-songwriter, Josh Kelley whose hits include “Amazing” and recently, “Almost Honest”, has been wearing scarves made from Red Heart and Moda Dea yarns at his concerts this past year.
In May, Josh performed in Greenville, South Carolina, where Coats & Clark Editorial/Publicity Director, Kathleen Sams had a chance to meet and talk with him. Kathleen knew that Josh liked to wear scarves so she knitted and crocheted five scarves and presented him with them when they met. Kathleen says she learned later that he had been wearing the scarves at concerts and had really enjoyed them.
Kathleen designed and crocheted a special Double Wedding Ring afghan for Josh and his bride-to-be, the beautiful Grey's Anatomy star, Katherine Heigl. Kathleen received an email saying Katherine had loved the throw and that it was the couple’s first heirloom.
Kathleen went to see Josh Kelley in concert again recently. Here’s how Kathleen describes her encounter with Josh after that show:
“I had the opportunity to see Josh perform again on Tuesday, November 6, 2007. He likes to come out and talk with the concert goers after the show, so I stood in the back of the line and let all those young girls get their chance with him. When I approached him, he actually remembered me, gave me a big hug (which I'm told he never does) and we chatted. I gave him another knit scarf. This one I made in Moda Dea Washable Wool and he told me he felt like it was too nice for him and that he was giving it to Katherine. I also gave him a box of yarn and our bamboo knitting needles to give to Katherine, an avid knitter.”
