Join crochet and knitting enthusiasts from all over the country at the summer Chain Link Conference, July 25-27, in Manchester, New Hampshire. The conference is being held at the Radisson Hotel Center and is sponsored by the Crochet Guild of America and The Knitting Guild Association.
The conference offers 98 classes ranging from beginner to advanced (including a class just for kids) taught by some of the best teachers in the world. Topics range from learning how to work with different types of yarn and stitch patterns to couture techniques for knit and crochet, and everything in between. Learn edging techniques, Celtic lace and advanced finishing. Then there is the shopping—booth after booth of yarns, books, patterns, stitching equipment and more. Registered attendees will receive a goody bag from Coats & Clark.
Experts from Coats & Clark will be teaching free Teach Me 2 Crochet/Knit classes during the show plus there will be a stitch doctor on hand and a 24/7 Knit & Crochet Lounge. To add to the excitement, the Craft Yarn Council and the British Hand Knitting Confederation will be sponsoring crochet and knit stitching speed trials. Ladies, start your hooks and needles!!
A highlight of the conference is sure to be the Chic Street Dinner on Saturday night, followed by the Fashion Show and Auction. The fashion show emceed by Drew Emborsky, a.k.a. the Crochet Dude, will feature garments from CGOA and TKGA members, professional designers and retail vendors.
