Made with 30% recycled polyester, Eco-Ways™ creates something completely new out of something that would otherwise end up in our landfills. The recycled polyester used in Eco-Ways™ comes completely from recycled plastics. Red Heart® Eco-Cotton™ Blend
Over 2.5 billion pounds a year of textile waste hits our landfills. That’s 10lbs. for every person in the United States. Red Heart® is working to help reduce this number with a yarn made with 75% Eco2 Cotton – recycled cotton from t-shirt fabric remnants. Crafting green has never been easier.

How is it manufactured? Fabric clippings are collected after the cut-and-sew process in T-shirt manufacturing. The clippings are sorted by color, chopped into small pieces and blended. The resulting fiber is then blended with acrylic to enhance the performance and color and made into yarn. The regenerated fibers retain the color of the original recycled t-shirt or garment, so less dyes and chemicals are used.

Both of these beautiful yarns are made in the USA reducing fuels needed to transport them and reducing our carbon footprint!
