Making a Slip Knot/Yarn Over

Make a loop over your finger.

Push another loop through it.

Insert the hook into the loop.Pull the yarn ends to tighten and push the knot up to the shank.

With the loop at the center of the shaft area of the hook and the yarn behind the hook, swing the hook under and completely around the yarn.

The one strand of yarn over the hook is the yarn over.
