BASIC BAG: With CA, ch 13.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 12 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn.
Rep Row 2 until 8" from beg.
Now work in rnds without joining, but mark beg/end of rnds with a contrasting color thread between first and last sts.
Top-Rnd 1 (Right Side): Ch 1, * work 39 sc along long edge of base, 12 sc along short end of base; rep from * once more – 102 sc.
Next Rnd: Sc in back lp of each sc around.
Next Rnd: Sc in both lps of each sc around.
Rep last rnd until 8½" above base.
Final Rnd: * Sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc; rep from * around to marker; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
BASIC STRAP A (B): With color indicated, ch 4 (6).
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn -3 (5) sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn. Rep Row 2 until 15 (19)" from beg. Fasten off.
Edge Rnd: Attach color indicated in a corner; ch 1, ** (sc, ch 1, sc) all in corner, ch 1, skip a space equal to one sc, * sc in strap, ch 1, skip a space as before; rep from * to corner; rep from ** around; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
1. FLOWER POWER
Make Basic Bag.
STRAP (Make 2): Make Strap B with CB; Edge Rnd with CA.
FLOWER-Bottom: With CB, ch 4; join with a sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 13 dc into ring; join with a sl st in top of ch-3 – 14 sts.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, ch 5, skip next dc, * sc in next dc, ch 5, skip next dc; rep from * around; join – 7 lps.
Rnd 3: (Sl st, ch 2, dc, tr, 3 dtr, tr, dc, hdc) all in first lp, ch 1, * (hdc, dc, tr, 3 dtr, tr, dc, hdc) all in next lp, ch 1; rep from * around; join in top of ch-2. Fasten off.
Edge Rnd: With right side facing, attach CA in any ch-1 sp; ch 1, sc in each st and sp around; join. Fasten off.
FLOWER-Top: With CB, ch 4; join with a sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 6, [dc in ring, ch 3] 6 times; join to 3rd ch of ch-6.
Rnd 2: Ch 1,* (sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc) all in lp; rep from * around; join. Fasten off.
Edge Rnd: With right side facing, attach CA in any st; ch 1, sc in each st around; join. Fasten off.
Sew straps in place as shown. Stack flower top over bottom and sew tog. Sew flower to strap. With CA embroider French knots in flower center.
2. HOT DOTS
Make Basic Bag.
STRAP (Make 2): Make Strap B with CA; Edge Rnd with CA.
DOTS (Make 13): With CB, work 16 sc around ring; join with a sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Sew straps in place as shown. Sew Dots to front as shown.
3. RING ZING
Make Basic Bag.
STRAP (Make 2): Make Strap A with CB; Edge Rnd with CA.
Next Rnd: With right side facing, attach CB in ch-1 sp at corner; ch 1, ** (sc, ch 1, sc) all in corner, ch 1, * sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * to next corner; rep from ** around; join. Fasten off.
RING-Rnd 1: With CB, work 80 sc around ring; join with a sl st in first sc changing to CA.
Rnd 2: With CA, ch 1, sc in same sc, ch 1, skip next sc, * sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc; rep from * around; join. Fasten off.
Rnd 3: With right side facing, attach CB in any ch-1 sp; ch 1,* sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * around; join.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, * sc in sp, ch 1; rep from * around; join. Fasten off.
RING STRAP: Make same as Strap A EXCEPT work until piece measures 7". Finish same as Strap above.
Sew straps in place as shown. Sew one end of Ring Strap around Ring; sew opposite end to back. |
