MOTIF: With CB, ch 4; join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, [sc, ch 5] 4 times in ring; join with a sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Sl st into ch-5 sp; ch 1, * (sc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 2, sc) all in ch-5 sp; rep from * around; join. Fasten off.
Rnd 3: Join CA in any ch-1 sp between 2 groups of 3 dc; ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 5, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc, ch 7, sc in next dc, ch 5 **, sc in next ch- 1 sp; rep from * around, end at **; join.

2 COLOR PONCHO
Join motifs into 2 panels of 4 motifs by 9 motifs on Rnd 4 as follows:
Joining Rnd 4-Join on One Side: Sl st in each of next 3 ch; ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 3, * (3 dc, ch 1, sl st in ch-3 corner sp of adjoining motif, ch 1, 3 dc) all in next ch-7 sp *, ch 1, sl st in next ch-3 sp of adjoining
motif, ch 1, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 2, sl st in next ch-5 sp of adjoining motif, ch 2, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 1, sl st in next ch-3 sp of adjoining motif, ch 1; rep from * to * once; ** ch 3, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 3, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-7 sp; rep from ** once more; ch 3, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 5; join. Fasten off.
Join on Two Sides: Work as for Joining Rnd 4 across the first side, joining at corner by working the sl st into the sl st of previous joining; join the 2nd side; complete the rnd. Fasten off.
FINISHING: Join the short side of one panel to the long edge of the 2nd panel as follows: With right sides together and working through both layers, join CA through corner ch-3 sp at lower edge; ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 5, sc in joining st; rep from * across working last sc in corner
sp. Fasten off.
Join short side of 2nd panel to long edge of first panel in same manner as above.
Lower Edging: With right side facing, join CA in seam; ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 5 **, sc in next joining st; rep from * around, end at
**; join. Fasten off.
Fringe: Cut lengths of CA 10" long. Holding 5 strands together, fold in half forming a lp; bring the lp through a ch-5 sp at lower edge, then bring the thread ends through the lp; pull to tighten. Rep in each ch-5 sp around lower edge, then divide strands in half (5) and knot together with 5 strands of adjoining fringe approx. 3/4" below first knot. Trim.
Neck Edging-Rnd 1: With right side facing, join CA at V point of back neck; ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp **, ch 5, sc in next joining st between 2 motifs *; rep from * to * 4 times more (V point of front neck edge); rep from * to * 4 times more, then rep from * to ** once; ch 2, dc in first
sc, sl st in 3rd ch of first ch-5.
