BACK: Ch 59 (65, 71).
Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch across; turn – 57 (63, 69) sts.
Row 2: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in each dc across and in top of ch-3; turn.
Rep Row 2 until 10 (10, 12) rows in all have been worked. Back should measure 6¼ (6¼, 7½)" from beg.

Shape Armholes: Sl st across first 6 dc, (sl st, ch 3) all in next dc, work in dc to last 6 sts; turn – 45 (51, 57) sts. Dec 1 st at each end of next 3 (4, 5) rows – 39 (43, 47) sts. Work even in dc until 12 (13, 14) rows in all have been worked for armhole. Armhole should measure 7 1/2 (8, 8¾)". Fasten off.

RIGHT FRONT: Ch 22 (25, 28). Work 1 row in dc same as back over 20 (23, 26) sts. Inc 1 st at end of next row, then at same edge on next 7 rows – 28 (31, 34) sts. Work 1 (1, 3) more rows even.

Shape Armhole and Front Slope: Work in dc to last 6 sts; turn – 22 (25, 28) sts.

* Continue in dc, dec 1 st at each end of next 3 (4, 5) rows – 16 (17, 18) sts. Now dec 1 st at front edge ONLY every row until 11 (13, 15) sts rem. Work even in dc until 12 (13, 14) rows in all have been worked for armhole. Fasten off. **

LEFT FRONT: Ch 22 (25, 28). Work 1 row in dc same as back over 20 (23, 26) sts. Inc 1 st at beg of next row, then at same edge on next 7 rows – 28 (31, 34) sts. Work 1 (1, 3) more rows even.

Shape Armhole and Front Slope: Sl st across first 6 sts, (sl st, ch 3) all in next dc, dc to end – 22 (25, 28) sts. Rep from * to ** of Right Front.

SLEEVES: Ch 29 (29, 31). Work 2 rows in dc same as back over 27 (27, 29) sts. Shape sides by inc 1 st at each end of next row, then every right side row until there are 41 (45, 47) sts. Work even until sleeve measures 17½ (18, 18)" from beg or 28 (29, 29) rows.

Shape Cap: Sl st across first 6 dc, (sl st, ch 3) all in next dc, dc across to last 6 sts; turn. Dec 1 st at each end of every row until 13 (15, 15) sts rem. Fasten off.

Sleeve Edging: With right side facing, attach yarn at lower edge; ch 1, work sc evenly across; turn. Work 1 more row sc. Fasten off.

FINISHING: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves, easing cap to fit.

Body Edging: With right side facing, attach yarn at right side seam; ch 1, work sc evenly around entire outer edge of jacket, taking care to keep work flat; join with a sl st to first sc; turn. Work 1 more rnd sc; join as before. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
