6 x 9 mm Pony beads, two 1 1/8" bone rings, washable marker, yarn needle; purchased denim skirt and knit tank top.

GAUGE: 16 sts = 4"; 15 rows = 4½" in pat with larger hook.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

instructions

 
BELT

With CA and larger hook, ch 151.
(Note: For a longer belt, ch 4 sts for each inch you want to lengthen. For a shorter belt, subtract 4 ch for each inch you want to shorten.)

Foundation Row 1 (Right Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off. DO NOT TURN.

Row 2: With right side facing, attach CB in first sc of last row; ch 3, skip first sc, dc in each sc across. Fasten off. DO NOT TURN.

Row 3: With right side facing, attach CA in top of ch-3 of last row; ch 1, sc in same st and in each dc across. Fasten off. DO NOT TURN.

Row 4: Rep Row 2.

Row 5: Rep Row 3. Weave in ends.

Attach CA in bone ring; ch 1, work 30 sc in ring; join with a sl st to first sc. Fasten off, leaving a 10" tail for sewing. Repeat in other bone ring with CB.

With right sides of rings together and row end of belt in between the rings, sew through all 3 thicknesses.

SKIRT TRIM

With smaller hook, punch an even number of holes spaced approximately 1/4" apart around lower edge of skirt just above the hem.

Foundation Rnd 1: With smaller hook, attach CB in a hole at side seam; ch 1, sc in same hole and in each hole around; join with a sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: With larger hook, ch 1, sc in each sc around; join. Fasten off.

Rnd 3: Attach CA in same st as joining; ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, * skip next sc, sc in next sc, ch 3; rep from * around; join. Fasten off.

Rnd 4: String beads onto CB for half the amount of ch-3 sps on Rnd 3. Attach CB in any ch-3 sp; ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 4, * pull bead up to hook, ch 4 **, skip next ch-3 sp, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 4; rep from * around, end at **; join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

TANK TOP TRIM

Make an even number of marks around armhole, approximately 1/4" apart. Holes will be punched through fabric with the smaller hook as you crochet.

Foundation Rnd 1: With smaller hook and CA, starting at mark near underarm seam, push hook through fabric to attach CA; ch 1, sc in
same place, sc at each mark around; join with a sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Rnd 2: With larger hook, attach CB in first sc; ch 1, sc in each sc around; join to first sc. Fasten off.

Rnd 3: With larger hook, attach CA in first sc; ch 1, * sc in sc, ch 3, skip next sc; rep from * around; join.

Rnd 4: Ch 1, * sc in next sp, ch 2; rep from * around; join. Fasten off.
