FIRST MOTIF: Ch 5; join with a sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1); [dc, ch 1] 11 times in ring; join with a sl st in 3rd ch of ch-4.
Rnd 2: Sl st in first sp; Beg CL, [ch 2, CL] twice, * ch 5, [CL, ch 2] twice, CL; rep from * around; (ch 2, dc in top of Beg CL) to join and form last corner.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, 3 sc over dc, * [ch 3, 2 sc in next sp] twice, ch 3 **, (3 sc, ch 5, 3 sc) all in ch-5 sp; rep from * around, end at **; 3 sc in first sp, ch 5; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

Fringe (Optional): Cut thread into 13" lengths. With 7 strands held together, fold in half forming a loop; insert crochet hook from the wrong side of the fabric into a corner sp and into the loop; pull loop through sp, then pull ends through the loop and tighten. Trim ends even. |
