DRAWSTRING TOTE
With CA, Ch 92. Row 1 (RS): Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 91 sts.
Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), skip first st, hdc in each st across and in top of ch-2; turn.
Rows 3 and 4: Ch 1, sc in ea st across changing to CB in last sc of Row 4; turn.
Row 5: With CB, ch 1, sc in first 2 sc, [V-st over next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts] 14 times, V-st over next 3 sts, sc in last 2 sc; turn – 15 V-sts.
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in ea st across changing to CA in last sc; turn.
Row 7: With CA, ch 1, sc in 5 sc, [V-st over next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts] 13 times, V-st over next 3 sts, sc in last 5 sc; turn – 14 V-sts.

FINISHING: Fold piece in half; sew side and bottom seams.
Strap: With CA, ch 152. Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn. Ch 1, sl st around all 4 sides of strap. Fasten off. Weave through ch-1 sps of Row 49; sew ends together. Weave in ends and fasten
securely.
HANDLE TOTE
With CA, Ch 92. Row 1 (RS): Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 91 sts.
Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), skip first st, hdc in each st across and in top of ch-2; turn. Rep Row 2 until approximately 31/2" from beg, changing to CB in last st of last row, end WS row. Band-Row 1B:With CB, ch 1, sc in ea st across; turn.
Row 2B: With CB, sc in back loop of ea st across; turn.
Rows 3B and 4B: With CA, ch 1, sc in ea st across; turn.
Row 5B: With CB, ch 1, sc in first 2 sc, * Ldc in st 3 rows below, sc in next st, Ldc in st 3 rows below **, sc in next 3 sts; rep from * to last 2 sc, end at **; sc in last 2 sc; turn – 30 Ldc.
Row 6B: With CB, ch 1, sc in ea st across; turn.
Row 7B: With CA, sc in first 5 sc, * Ldc in st 3 rows below, sc in next st, Ldc in st 3 rows below, sc in next 3 sts; rep from * to last 2 sc; sc in last 2 sc; turn – 28 Ldc.
Row 8B: With CA, ch 1, sc in ea st across; turn.
Rep Rows 5B-8B until 9" from beg, end Row 8B.
Next 2 Rows: Rep Row 1B and Row 2B.
With CA, now rep Row 2 until 123/4" from beg.
Fasten off.
FINISHING: Fold piece in half; sew side and bottom seams. Turn 3/4" of top edge to WS and tack in place.
Handle: With CA, ch 132. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn. Next 4 Rows: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn. Next Rnd: Ch 1, sl st evenly around 4 sides of handle. Fasten off. Sew ends to
WS at sides of bag.
Button Loop: With CA, ch 16. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off. Fold to form a loop; sew ends to WS at center of bag back. Sew button on front. |
