Poncho is worked from the neck down. Beads are attached on a ribbon in groups. Our 36" ribbon had 140 groups of beads. Tack ends of ribbon together.
Rnd 1: With CB, make a slip knot on your hook, working over the ribbon; ch 1, work one sc between each group of beads around; join with a sl st to the first sc – 140 sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc around; join.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same sc as joining, ch 1, * skip next sc, sc in next sc, ch 1; rep from * around; join. Fasten off CB.
Rnd 4: Attach CA in any ch-1 sp; ch 4, * dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * around; join to 3rd ch of ch-4.
Rnds 5 and 6: Sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 4, * dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * around; join to 3rd ch of ch-4.
Rnd 7: Sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 5, * dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 2; rep from * around; join to 3rd ch of ch-5.
Rnds 8-17: Sl st in next ch-2 sp, ch 5, * dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2; rep from * around; join to 3rd ch of ch-5. Fasten off CA.
Lower Edging-Rnd 1: Attach CB in any ch-2 sp; ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 3, * sc in next sp, ch 3; rep from * around; join with a sl st to first sc.
Rnds 2-6: Sl st in ch-3 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 3, * sc in next sp, ch 3; rep from * around; join. Fasten off. Weave in ends. |
