NOTE: Use 2 strands held together as one throughout.
FIRST SIDE: Ch 9. Row 1 (Wrong Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 8 sc.
Row 2: Ch 3, skip first sc, dc in each sc to end; turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each dc across and in top of ch-3; turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first sc, [ch 5, sc in next sc] 7 times; turn – 7 lps.
Rows 5, 6, 7: [Ch 5, sc in lp] 7 times; turn. Fasten off at the end of Row 7.
SECOND SIDE:Work same as First Side EXCEPT do not fasten off at end of Row 7.
Joining Row: [Ch 5, sc in lp] 7 times, ch 5; with right side of First Side facing, sc in first lp of First Side, [ch 5, sc in lp] 6 times, ch 5, bring other side around making sure that work is not twisted and sc in first lp of this row – 15 ch-5 lps. Place marker on last ch-5 lp made.
Next Rnds: * Ch 5, sc in next lp; rep from * around and around without joining until there are a total of 13 rnds completed, end last rnd in lp above marker.
Next Rnd: [Ch 3, sc in next lp] 14 times, ch 3; join with a sl st in first sc.
Last Row: Fold last round in half with the last sc at your right; working through both thicknesses sc evenly across the bottom edge. Fasten off.
FINISHING: Fold Rows 1-3 to the wrong side over one of the handles and sew in place. Rep with remaining handle. Weave in ends. |
