With CA, ch 54 loosely; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring taking care not to twist chain.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in same ch as joining, * ch 1, skip next ch, sc in next ch; rep from * to last ch; ch 1, skip last ch; join CB with a sl st in first ch – 54 sts.
Rnd 2: With CB, sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * around ending with ch 1, skip last sc; join CA with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 3: With CA, rep Rnd 2 joining CB at end.
Rep Rnds 2-3 for pat until approximately 5" from beg, end pat Rnd 2.
Shape Top-Next rnd: With CA, sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 1, skip next sc, [draw up a lp in next ch-1 sp] twice, yo and draw through all lps on hook **, ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * 7 times more, then from * to ** once; ch 1, skip last sc; join CB with sl st in first sc – 36 sts.
Work 3 rnds even in pat.
Next Rnd: With CA, sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, draw up a lp in same sp, skip next sc, draw up a lp in next ch-1 sp, yo and draw through all lps on hook, * ch 1, skip next sc, [draw up a lp in next ch-1 sp] twice, yo and draw through all lps on hook; rep from * 7 times more; ch 1, skip last sc; join CB with sl st in first sc – 18 sts.
Work 1 rnd even in pat.
Next Rnd: With CA, sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, draw up a lp in same sp, skip next sc, draw up a lp in next ch-1 sp, yo and draw through all lps on hook, * skip next sc, [draw up a lp in next ch-1 sp] twice, yo and draw through all lps on hook; rep from * 7 times more; skip last sc; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off leaving a 6" end. Thread end into yarn needle and draw tightly through rem sts. Weave in ends.
SCARF
Note: Scarf is worked lengthwise, leaving yarn ends at beg and end of each row which will be incorporated into fringe.
All rows are worked on Right Side.
With CA, ch 182 loosely leaving an 8" end at beg of chain.
Row 1 (Right Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, skip next ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across – 181 sts. Cut yarn leaving an 8" end.
Row 2: With right side facing and CB, leave an 8" end and work sc in first sc of last row, * sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, skip next sc; rep from * to last 2 sts; sc in ch-1 sp, sc in last sc. Cut yarn leaving an 8" end.
Row 3: With right side facing and CA, leave an 8" end and work sc in first sc of last row, * ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to last 2 sc; ch 1, skip next sc, sc in last sc. Cut yarn leaving an 8" end.
Rep Rows 2-3 for pat until Scarf measures approximately 7" wide, end pat Row 2.
Last Row: With right side facing and CA, leave an 8" end and work sc in first sc of last row, sc in each sc and ch-1 sp across. Cut yarn leaving an 8" end.
Fringe: Cut 16" lengths of CA and CB. Holding 2 strands together, knot into fringe at beg and end of each row with corresponding yarn ends. Trim. |
