FINISHING
: To secure top edge of tote before felting, thread a length of matching yarn through final row and ease in top edge slightly.
Felting: Weave in all yarn ends. Set your washing machine at lowest water level (enough to just cover pieces), hottest temperature and highest agitation. Place flowers and stems in a laundry bag together. Put laundry bag, tote, straps and an old towel (for added abrasion) into washer. Using a small amount of liquid detergent, begin washing and check on pieces approx every 5 minutes until desired felting of fabric is achieved: the stitch definition should be almost unrecognizable. Remove pieces and rinse by hand in lukewarm water. Roll pieces in towels to remove excess water. Dry flat.

Coil Flowers into rose shapes and stitch together through all thicknesses. Pin Flowers, Stems and Leaves in position as shown; sew in place. Sew ends of handles securely to the wrong side of the tote 2" (5cm) in from sides, having handle ends extend into bag approximately 2" (5cm).
