Row 2: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in each st across and in top of ch-3; turn.

Rep Row 2 for 6 more rows. Dec 1 st each end of next 4 RS rows. Work 3 rows even. Inc 1 st each end of next 4 RS rows. Work 3 rows even.

Shape Armholes: Sl st across first 6 (6, 8) sts, ch 3, dc to last 5 (5, 7) sts; turn – 65 (73, 77) sts. Dec 2 sts at each end of next 4 (5, 5) rows
– 49 (53, 57) sts. Work even until armholes measure 7 (7½, 7¾)".

Shape Shoulders: Work across first 13 (14, 15) sts. Fasten off. Skip center 23 (25, 27) sts, attach yarn in next st, work to end. Fasten off.

FRONT (Make 2): With smaller hook and CA, ch 17 (21, 25). Work in dc across 15 (19, 23) sts. Mark one end ‘front opening’ and the other end ‘side edge’. Shape Armhole: Omit 4 sts at arm edge by either sl st across first 6 (6, 8) sts OR working to last 5 (5, 7) sts and turning as before – 28 (32, 34) sts. At ‘front opening’, dec 1 st on next 3 (4, 4) rows AND AT THE SAME TIME dec 2 sts at ‘side edge’ on next 4 rows – 17 (20, 22) sts. Dec 1 st at ‘front opening’ end only on next 4 (6, 7) rows – 13 (14, 15) sts. Work even until fronts are same length as back. Fasten off.

SLEEVE: With smaller hook and CA, ch 33 (35, 37). Work in dc across 31 (33, 35) sts, shaping sides by inc 1 st at beg of every row until there are 49 (53, 57) sts. Work even until 17 (17, 17 1/2)" from beg.

Shape Cap:
Sl st across first 6 (6, 8) sts, ch 3, dc to last 5 (5, 7) sts; turn – 39 (43, 43) sts. Dec 2 sts at each end of next 7 (7, 1) rows; work 0 (0, 1) row even; dec 2 sts at each end of next 0 (0, 5) rows – 11 (15, 19) sts. Fasten off.

FINISHING: Sew shoulder, side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.

Cuff Edging-Rnd 1: With RS facing and smaller hook, attach CA at seam; ch 1, work 35 sc around; join with a sl st in first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, * sc in sc, skip next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip next 2 sc, sc in sc; rep from * around; join.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, * sc in sc, [ch 4, sl st in 4th ch from hook, ch 1picot made; sc in next dc] 5 times, picot, skip next sc; rep from * around; join. Fasten off.

Jacket Edging: (NOTE: Move marker up with each rnd.)
Rnd 1: With RS facing and smaller hook, attach CA at marker on left front; ch 1, sc evenly down left front and around to next marked st working a multiple of 7 sts; work sc evenly around to beg; join.

Rnd 2: Work same as Cuff Edging Rnd 2 to next marker; sc in each st to end; join.

Rnd 3: Work same as Cuff Edging Rnd 3 to next marker; sc in each st to end; join. Fasten off.

Collar-Row 1: With WS facing and larger hook, attach CB at marker on left front; ch 1, sc around neck to next marker; turn.

Row 2: Sl st in first 3 sc, ch 1, sc in same st as last sl st, sc to last 2 sc inc 1 st on each side of each shoulder seam; turn. Rep Row 2 until 4½ (4¾, 5)" from beg. Fasten off. With WS facing and larger hook, attach CB at marker on left front. Work 1 row of sc around collar edges.
