Foundation Row (Right Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, * sc in next ch, ch 1, skip next ch; rep from * to last 2 ch; sc in last 2 ch; turn – 59 (67, 71) sts.
Row 1 (Wrong Side): Ch 1, sc in first sc, * ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to last 2 sc; ch 1, skip next sc, sc in last sc; turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first sc, * sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, skip next sc; rep from * to last 2 sts; sc in next ch-1 sp, sc in last sc; turn.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for pat while working stripe pat as follows: 2 more rows CA, * 2 rows CB, 2 rows CC, 2 rows CB, 6 rows CA; rep from * for 12-row stripe pat.
Work in pats until 8 (9½, 10½)" from beg, end wrong side row.
Shape Armholes: Keeping continuity of pats, sl st in first 4 sts, ch 1, sc in same st as last sl st, work to last 3 sts; turn. Dec 1 st at each end of next 3 rows – 47 (55, 59) sts. **
Work even until armhole measures 5 (5½, 6)" end wrong side row.
Shape Shoulders: Sl st in first 7 (9, 9) sts, ch 1, sc in same st as last sl st, work to last 6 (8, 8) sts; turn.
Next Row: Sl st in first 7 (9, 9) sts, ch 1, sc in same st as last sl st, work across next 22 (22, 26) sts. Fasten off.
FRONT: Work same as Back from ** to **. Work 0 (2, 4) rows even, end wrong side row.
Shape Placket Opening: Ch 1, work across 23 (27, 29) sts (placket edge); turn. Work even until placket opening measures 2½" end wrong side row.
Shape Neck: Ch 1, work to last 6 (6, 8) sts (neck edge); turn – 17 (21, 21) sts. Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 5 rows – 12 (16, 16) sts. Work even until armhole measures 5 (5 1/2, 6)" end wrong side row.
Shape Shoulder: Sl st in first 7 (9, 9) sts, ch 1, sc in same st as last sl st, work to end. Fasten off.
With right side facing, skip center st, join yarn to next st; ch 1, sc in same st, work to end; turn. Complete to correspond to first side, reversing all shapings.
Pocket: With right side facing, place a marker on 11th row of Front, 8 (10, 12) sts in from side edge (this should be an unworked sc in CB). Join CA to this st; ch 1, sc in same sp, [ch 1, sc in next skipped sc of 11th row] 22 (24, 24) times; turn – 45 (49, 49) sts. Work 9 more rows, placing a marker at each end of last row.
Shape Sides: Dec 1 st at each end of next row. Work 1 row even. Rep last 2 rows 6 more times – 31 (35, 35) sts. Fasten off. Sew straight sides of pocket in position to markers. Sew top edge in position.
SLEEVES: With CA, ch 30 (32, 34). Work in pats same as for Back for a total of 4 rows over 29 (31, 33) sts. Shape sides by inc 1 st each end of next row, then every 4th row 7 (8, 10) times – 45 (49, 55) sts. Work even until 9 (11, 13)" from beg end wrong side row.
Shape Cap: Sl st in first 4 sts, ch 1, sc in same st as last sl st, work to last 3 sts, turn.
Next Row: Sl st in first 3 sts, ch 1, sc in same st as last sl st, work to last 2 sts, turn. Rep last row 7 (8, 9) more times – 7 (7, 9) sts. Fasten off.
HOOD: Beg at face edge with CA, ch 104 (106, 110). Work in pats same as Back for a total of 4 rows over 103 (105, 109) sts. Dec 1 st at each end of next row. Work 3 rows even. Rep last 4 rows 3 times more – 95 (97, 101) sts. Work even until 6½ (7, 7½)" from beg end wrong side row.
Shape Back: Sl st in each of first 14 (14, 15) sts, ch 1, sc in same st as last sl st, work to last 13 (13, 14) sts, turn. Rep last row twice more – 17 (19, 17) sts. Fasten off.
FINISHING: Sew shoulder, sleeve and side seams. Set in sleeves. Fold hood in half and sew back seam. Sew hood to neck edge.
Hood and Placket Edging: Join CA at neck seam of right front; ch 1, work sc evenly around hood edge, down placket opening, 1 sc at center front and up placket opening; join with a sl st to first sc. Work 1 rnd Reverse Sc; join Fasten off.
Toggle Loops: With wrong side facing, join CA at neck seam of left front placket edge; ch 10; join with sl st in same sp as first sl st. Fasten off. Make a 2nd loop 2½" below first loop. Sew toggles on right front placket edge to correspond to loops.
