SQUARE A (Make 16): With larger hook and CA, ch 3; join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 3, [3 dc in ring, ch 3] 3 times; join with a sl st to top of ch-3. Fasten off.
Rnd 2: With RS facing, join MC in any ch-3 sp; ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in same sp, ch 1, * (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next sp, ch 1; rep from * around; join.
Rnd 3: Sl st in next 2 dc and into sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, * (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * around; join. Fasten off.
SQUARES B, C, and D (Make 16 each): Work same as Square A EXCEPT work Rnd 1 with CB, CC, or CD.
FINISHING: Sew 8 squares with the same color centers into a strip (there will be 8 strips, 2 of each of the 4 colors); sew strips together as pictured.
Edging-Rnd 1: With RS facing and smaller hook, join MC in any corner; ch 1, * (2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc) all in corner, sc in each st and sp across; rep from * around; join to first sc. Fasten off.
Rnd 2: With RS facing, join CA in sc before corner sp; ch 3, * (dc, ch 3, dc) all in corner sp, dc in each st to next corner; rep from * around; join to top of ch-3. Fasten off.
Rnds 3-8: Rep Rnd 2 in color sequence: MC, CB, MC, CC, MC, CD.
Rnd 9: With RS facing, join MC in corner; ch 1, * (2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc) all in corner , sc in each st across; rep from * around; join. Fasten off. Weave in ends. |
