JACK-O-LANTERN
COZY: With CA, ch 13.
Row 1 (Right Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 12 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in back loop only of each sc across; turn.
Rep Row 2 until piece measures 8" from beginning, ending with a wrong side row. Do NOT fasten off.
ASSEMBLY: With wrong side facing and short edges aligned and working through top of last row and remaining lp of foundation ch; ch 1, sl st in each st across. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
EYE (Make 2): With CB, ch 4; sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in last ch. Fasten off, leaving a 12" end for sewing. Sew Eyes to front of Cozy. With CC, embroider a small highlight in each Eye.
MOUTH: With CB, ch 13; sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in each of next 8 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in last sc. Fasten off, leaving a 24" end for sewing. Curve Mouth into a smile and sew in place.
FRANKENSTEIN
COZY: Work and assemble same as Jack-O-Lantern with CA.
NOSE: With CA, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 4 Sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with a sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in back loop of each sc around; join. Fasten off, leaving a 12" end for sewing. With Cozy seam at center back, sew Nose to center front.
EAR (Make 2): With CA, ch 4; 6 dc in 4th ch from hook. Fasten off, leaving a 12" end for sewing. Sew one Ear to each side of Cozy.
EYE (Make 2): With CB, ch 2; 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off, leaving a 12" end for sewing. Sew Eyes to front of Cozy. With CD, embroider a highlight in each eye.
MOUTH: With CC, ch 17. Fasten off, leaving a 24" end for sewing. Tack chain to Cozy in a crooked "W" shape for Mouth.
HAIR: Cut 6" lengths of CB and attach to center top of Cozy. Trim to 1/2" for Hair.
GHOSTIE
COZY: Work and assemble same as Jack-O-Lantern with CA.
EYE (Make 2): With CB, ch 2; 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off, leaving a 12" end for sewing. Sew Eyes to front of Cozy. With CA, embroider a highlight in each eye.
MOUTH: With CB, ch 4; sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, 3 sc in next ch, working along opposite side of foundation ch, sc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch; join with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off, leaving a 12" end for sewing. Sew Mouth to Cozy centered under Eyes. |
