BACK
With A, ch 68.
Row 1 (WS) Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch
across—66 sts. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2 Hdc in each st across. Ch 2, turn. Rep row 2 for
pat st and work even for one more row.
Chart 1
Row 1 (RS) Beg with st 1 and work to st 6, then rep sts
1-6 10 times more. Cont to foll chart in this way to row
4, end with a WS row.
Chart 2
Row 1 (RS) Beg with st 1 and work to st 11, then rep sts
1-11 5 times more. Cont to foll chart in this way to row
21, end with a RS row.
Chart 3
Row 1 (WS) Beg with st 6 and work to st 1, then rep sts
6-1 10 times more. Cont to foll chart in this way to row
5; piece should measure 12"/30.5cm from beg. Fasten off.
FRONT
Work as for back until row 18 of chart 2 has been
completed, end with a WS row; piece should measure
9"/23cm from beg.
Left neck shaping
Row 19 (RS) Work across first 33 sts. Ch 2, turn.
Dec 1 st at beg of next row, then at same edge every
row 4 times. AT SAME TIME, when chart 2 has been
completed, work chart 3. Work even on 28 sts to row
5 of chart 3. Fasten off.
Right neck shaping
Row 19 (RS) Join A with a sc in next st, work to end. Ch
2, turn. Cont to work as for left neck, reversing shaping.
FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams.
Neck edging
From RS, join A with a sc in right shoulder seam.
Rnd 1 Making sure that work lies flat, sc evenly around
neck edge. Join rnd with a sl st in first st. Fasten off.
Fringe
For each fringe, cut 4 strands of B 9"/23cm long. Use
hook to pull through and knot fringe. Knot 17 fringes
across front and back bottom edges. Weave optional
leather cord around neck edge, beg and ending at center
front. Tie cord at neck, then knot ends. |
