instructions

Step 1: Before you cut the plastic canvas, make a paper "bracelet" ½" wide x 8¼" long to make sure that it will fit over your hand. If you need a different size bracelet, adjust the lenght to fit and cut the plastic accordingly.

Step 2: Cut the plastic canvas strip for each bracelet: 5 holes (6 plastic "threads") wide for the Squares or 7 holes (8 plastic "threads") wide for the Diamonds or Chevrons designs, and the length you determined in Step 1 above. Carefully trim the edges smooth.

Step 3: Thread the needle with a full strand (6 plies) of one of the design colors. Anchor the floss by holding a 1½"-long tail on the back side of the plastic canvas and work over this end. Make the diagonal stitches following thechart working with one color at a time. Keep floss smooth to cover the plastic. When you run out of thread in your needle or begin a new thread, run the thread ends under completed stitches on the back of the bracelet for approximately 1½". Trim ends close to work.

Step 4: When all stitching is completed, join the short ends of the bracelet with one of the two edge colors by first anchoring the thread on the back of the bracelet, then overcast the ends together; with this same color, work an overcast stitch in every other hole all around each side of the bracelet. Repeat the overcast stitch around the edges with the second edge color in the remaining alternate holes.
