Kid’s Craft -Spool knitting
Here’s a new twist on an old fashion craft—spool knitting. Using yarn and a Knitting Knobby from Susan Bates®, kids can make simple projects that they will have fun using!
Spool knitting was a way in the past that children were introduced to knitting. Four nails would be hammered into the top of a wooden spool and children would make knitted cords. They had fun “knitting” then using their imagination to create all kinds of things using their knitted cords.
We’ve made it a little easier for kid’s today, but it is just as much fun. Susan Bates Knitting Knobby or French Knitter (available in 3 sizes) can be used in the same way as the old wooden spool to make these fun projects:
