Hoards of knitters, crocheters and people with serious yarn addictions descended on the Mall of America President’s day weekend! The event included drawings, give-aways, fashion shows (human and doggie!), seminars and nationally known authors and designers.
The annual event is coordinated by the Craft Yarn Council of America.
NY Times best-selling women’s fiction and “Knit-Lit” author, Debbie Macomber, was on hand in the celebrity corner along with other favorite knit and crochet designers.
The “Neck’s “ Best Thing contest was a fun way to support the Orphan Foundation of America’s Red Scarf Project. In addition to the entries, scarves were collected to be donated to the Orphan Foundation. For more details visit www.orphan.org.
The event provided opportunities to learn to knit and crochet as well as “beyond the basics” classes to take your skills to the next level. Our Red Heart Ambassador Kathleen Sams taught how to knit and crochet socks and how to crochet cables. Her patterns, as well as many more patterns from the Knit Out can be found here.
