Making a Slip Knot

A slip knot is the starting point for almost everything you do in knitting and is the basis of all casting-on techniques.

	Click each diagram for a larger view. Fig 1 Make a loop over your finger. Fig 2 Push another loop through it. Fig 3 Insert the needle into the loop. Pull the yarn ends to tighten.
