Knitting Needles: 4mm [US 6]
Crochet Hook: 3.75mm [US F-5] for bag.

Yarn needle
Choker: One ½" black shank button; one heart-shaped bead or charm; yarn needle; needle and thread.

Choker measures approximately 11" long x 5/8" wide. Bag measures approximately 6" x 6½" without strap.

GAUGE: 18 sts = 4"; 29 rows = 4" in Seed st. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

BAG
Cast on 27 sts. Marking first row as the right side, work in Seed st as follows:

Row 1: K1, * P1, K1; rep from * across.

Rep Row 1 for Seed st until 14" from beginning. Bind off in pat.

Strap: Cast on 3 sts. Work in Seed st until approximately 42" from beginning. Bind off in pat.

FINISHING: Fold the piece to approximately 6" for bag, leaving 2" for flap; pin sides in place. With crochet hook, attach yarn at lower right corner with bag opening to the back; ch 1, working through both layers, sc in same place; * ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook – picot made; sc through bag; rep from * until one side is joined and flap is reached; rep from * through 1 layer around flap; rep from * to join next side. Fasten off leaving tails long enough to weave in.

Sew lower 2" of each end of strap to back of bag. Weave in ends; secure with sewing needle and thread if necessary.

CHOKER
Cast on 3 sts. Marking first row as the right side, work in Seed st as follows:

Row 1: K1, * P1, K1; rep from * across.

Rep Row 1 for Seed st until 11" from beginning. Bind off in pat. Cut thread leaving a 10" length.

Sew button at cast-on end of band. Thread the 10" length into the yarn needle and form a loop just big enough for the button to pass through.
Weave in ends and secure well by sewing through the strand with needle and thread.

Using a sewing needle and thread, sew charm or bead at center of band.
