instructions

MAIN PIECE: With 2 strands of yarn held together, cast on 51 sts.
Row 1 (Right Side): Knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Rows 3 and 4: Knit.
Rep Rows 1-4 for pat until approximately 42" from beginning, end pat Row 2.
Bind off.

CENTER PIECE: With 2 strands of yarn held together, cast on 11 sts. Work 1/2" in Stockinette stitch (Knit on right side rows; Purl on wrong side rows), begin Knit row, end Purl row. Bind off.

FINISHING: Sew cast-on and bind-off edges of Main Piece together. Thread a double strand of yarn in the yarn needle and stitch loosely through the fabric up one side of the seam and down the other side of the seam. Pull yarn ends to gather this area of the Main Piece until approximately 6" deep. Secure yarn ends well.

Wrap Center Piece around the gathered section of the Main Piece. Sew cast-on and bind-off edges of Center Piece together, centering the seam on the wrong side of the ponchette. Tack in place through all thicknesses to secure Center Piece.
