Shape Shoulders and Back Neck: Bind off 8 (8, 9, 9, 10, 11) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Next Row: Bind off 8 (8, 9, 9, 10, 11) sts, K until there are 11 (12, 12, 14, 14, 14) sts on right needle, including st on needle after bind-off, turn and put rem 39 (42, 43, 47, 48, 49) sts on a holder. With right side facing, join yarn to sts on holder, bind off center 20 (22, 22, 24, 24, 24) sts, K to end – 19 (20, 21, 23, 24, 25) sts. Next Row: Bind off 8 (8, 9, 9, 10, 11) sts, P to end. Next Row: Bind off 4 sts, K to end. Bind off rem 7 (8, 8, 10, 10, 10) sts.
LEFT FRONT: With smaller needles, cast on 45 (47, 49, 52, 54, 56) sts. Marking first row as the right side, K 12 rows. Change to larger needles and work in St st, beg K row, until front measures same as back to armhole shaping, end P row.
Shape Armhole and Front Slope: Bind off 4 sts at beg and dec 1 st at end of next row – 40 (42, 44, 47, 49, 51) sts. Mark st at neck edge of last row. P 1 row. Dec 1 st at armhole edge every K row 4 times AND AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st at center front edge on next 1 (3, 2, 4, 3, 3) K rows, then every 4th row 1 (0, 1, 0, 0, 0) time(s) – 34 (35, 37, 39, 42, 44) sts. Now dec 1 st at center front edge every 2nd (2nd, 4th, 4th, 2nd, 2nd) row, then every 4th row – 2 sts decreased. RIGHT FRONT: Work same as left front, reversing all shapings and working one more row before start of armhole and shoulder shapings.
SLEEVES: With smaller needles, cast on 44 (44, 46, 48, 48, 50) sts. Marking first row as the right side, K 10 rows. Change to larger needles and work in St st, beg K row, shaping sides by inc 1 st each end of next row, then every 4 (4, 4, 6, 4, 4)th row 2 (2, 3, 17, 6, 2) times – 50 (50, 54, 84, 62, 56) sts. Inc 1 st each end every 6th row (15, 15, 15, 0, 13, 16) times – 80 (80, 84, 84, 88, 88) sts. Work even until piece measures 18 (18, 18 1/2, 18 1/2, 18 1/2, 19)" from beg, end P row.
Shape Cap: Bind off 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end of next 4 K rows. P 1 row. Bind off rem 64 (64, 68, 68, 72, 72) sts.
FINISHING-Front Band: Sew shoulder seams. With right side facing and circular needles, pick up and K67 (69, 69, 71, 71, 73) sts up right front to marker, 43 (43, 45, 45, 47, 47) sts to shoulder seam, 28 (30, 30, 32, 32, 32) sts across back, 43 (43, 45, 45, 47,47) sts down left front to marker, and 67 (69, 69, 71, 71, 73) sts to lower edge – 248 (254, 258, 264, 268, 272) sts. K 4 rows. Bind off.
Ties (Make 2): With smaller needles, cast on 2 sts. K every row until 14" from beg. Bind off.
Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves. Attach ties to inside of Front Band at markers. |
