Knitting Needles: 5mm [US 8] and 6mm

GAUGE: 17 sts = 4"; 24 rows= 4" in Seed st with larger needles and 2 strands MC.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

NOTE: Work with 2 strands MC held together as one throughout.

BACK:
With larger needles and MC, cast on 47 (51, 53, 55) sts. Begin Seed st as follows:

Row 1 (Right Side): K1, * P1, K1; rep from * across.

Rep Row 1 for Seed st until 11 (12½, 13, 13½)" from beg. Bind off in pat.

RIGHT FRONT:
With larger needles and MC, cast on 21 (23, 25, 27) sts. Work in Seed st same as for Back until 10 (12, 12, 12½)" from beg, end by working a wrong side row.

Shape Neck: Keeping continuity of Seed st, bind off 6 sts at beg of next row – 15 (17, 19, 21) sts. Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 2 rows – 13 (15, 17, 19) sts. Work even until front measures same as Back. Bind off in pat.

LEFT FRONT:
Work same as Right Front, reversing neck shaping by working a right side row before binding off at neck edge.

SLEEVES: With larger needles and MC, cast on 29 (31, 31, 33) sts. Work in Seed st same as for Back, shaping sides by inc 1 st at each end of 5th row, then every 4th row until there are 43 (47, 51, 55) sts, working added sts into pat. Work even in Seed st until 6 (6½, 7, 7½)" from beg. Bind off in pat.

Sleeve Edging: With right side facing, larger needles and 1 strand CC, pick up and K29 (31, 31, 33) sts across lower edge of Sleeve. Work in St st for 7 rows, beg P row (8 rows total). Bind off loosely in K.

HOOD: With larger needles and MC, cast on 69 (73, 77, 81) sts. Work in Seed st same as for Back until 6 (6½, 7, 7½)" from beg. Change to one strand of CC. Work in St st for 8 rows. Bind off loosely in K.

FINISHING-Front Edging: With right side facing, smaller needles and MC, pick up and K52 (58, 58, 60) sts across left front edge. Bind off in K. Repeat Edging on right front edge.

Sew zipper in place under edgings.

Sew front and back at shoulders. Measure 5 (5½, 6, 6½)" down from shoulders on front and back. Place center of sleeve top at shoulder seam and sew in place between markers. Sew side and sleeve seams.

Sew back seam of hood. Sew hood along neck edge, easing in to fit.
