With smaller needles and CA, cast on 65 (77, 89, 101) sts.
Row 1 (Right Side): K1, * P1, K1; rep from * across.
Row 2: P1, * K1, P1; rep from * across.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for 3", end Row 2. Change to larger needles, CB, and work in St st, beg K row, for 6", end P row.
Shape Top: K1, * K2tog, K2; rep from * across – 49 (58, 67, 76) sts. P 1 row.
Next Row: K1, * K2tog, K1; rep from * across – 33 (39, 45, 51) sts. P 1 row.
Next Row: K1, * K2tog; rep from * across – 17 (20, 23, 26) sts.
Next Row: P1 (0, 1, 0), * P2tog; rep from * across – 9 (10, 12, 13) sts.
Cut yarn, leaving a long end. Thread yarn into yarn needle, draw yarn through rem sts and draw up firmly; fasten securely. Sew back seam. Make a 1" pom pon and secure to top. |
