GAUGES: 24 sts = 4"; 24 rows = 4" in rib pat (unstretched) with CA and 4mm needles. 18 sts = 4", 23 rows = 4" in St st with CB and 5mm needles. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauges.

BACK: With 4mm needles and CA, cast on 102 (110, 118) sts. Work in rib pat as follows:
Row 1 (Right Side): K2, *P2, K2; rep from * across.
Row 2: P2, *K2, P2; rep from * across.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for rib pat until 13½" from beg, end wrong side row.

Shape Armholes: Keeping continuity of rib pat, bind off 7 sts at beg of next 2 rows - 88 (96, 104) sts. Dec 1 st each end of every right side row 8 times - 72 (80, 88) sts. Work even in pat until 21½" from beg - armholes should measure 8" above bind-off.

Shape Shoulders: Bind off 6 (7, 8) sts at beg of next 6 rows. Bind off rem 36 (38, 40) sts.

LEFT FRONT: With 4mm needles and CA, cast on 54 (58, 62) sts.
Row 1 (Right Side): *K2, P2; rep from * to last 6 sts; K6.
Row 2:P6, *K2, P2; rep from * across.
Rows 3-12: Rep Rows 1 and 2 five more times.

Change to 5mm needles and CB and work in St st, beg K row, dec 6 sts evenly spaced on first row AND leave least 6 stitches unworked on a holder for zipper facing - 42 (46, 50) sts. Work even until front measures same as back to armhole, end P row.

Shape Armhole: Bind off 6 sts at beg of next row - 36 (40, 44) sts. Dec 1 st at same edge every K row 8 times - 28 (32, 36) sts. Work even for 21½" or until armhole measures approximately 5½" above bind-off, end K row.

Shape Neck: Bind off 5 (6, 7) sts, P to end - 23 (26, 29) sts. K 1 row. Bind off 2 sts at beg of next row. Rep the last 2 rows 3 more times - 15 (18, 21) sts. Work a few rows even until front measures same as back to shoulders, end P row.

Shape Shoulder: Bind off 5 (6, 7) sts at beg of next 3 K rows.

Zipper Facing: With 4mm needles and CA, work across 6 sts on holder in St st until facing fits up front to neck edge. Return 6 sts to stitch holder. Sew facing to jacket at adjoining edges.

RIGHT FRONT: With 4mm needles and CA, cast on 54 (58, 62) sts.
Row 1 (Right Side): K6, *P2, K2; rep from * across.
Row 2: *P2, K2; rep from * to last 6 sts; P6.
Rows 3-12: Rep Rows 1 and 2 five more times.

Place first 6 sts on a holder for zipper facing and work same as eft front reversing armhole, neck, and shoulder shapings.

SLEEVES: With 4mm needles and CA, cast on 50 sts. Work in rib pat same as back, shaping saides by inc 1 st at each end of every 3rd row until there are 74 sts, the every 4th row until there are 96 sts, working added sts into pat. Work even in pat until 15½ (16½, 17½)" from beg, end wrong side row.

Shape Cap: Bind off 7 sts at beg of next 2 rows - 82 sts. Dec 1 st each end of every row 18 times - 46 sts. Then every right side 7 times - 32 sts. Bind off in pat.

FINISHING-Collar: Sew shoulder, side and sleeve seams; set in sleeves. With right side facing, 4mm needles and CA, K across 6 facing sts on holder, pick up and K23 (24, 25) sts up right neck edge, 36 (38, 40) sts across back neck, 23 (24, 25) sts down left neck edge, K across 6 facing sts on holder - 94 (98, 102) sts.

Row 1 (Wrong Side): P6, K2, *P2, K2; rep from * to last 6 sts; P6.
Row 2: K6, P2, *K2, P2; rep from * to last 6 sts, K6.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for 1"/ Change to 5mm needles and continue as established for 2" more. Change to 6mm needles and continue as established for 4" more or until front measures 26" from lower edge to top of collar. Bind off in pat.

Fold zipper facings in half to wrong side and sew in place. Sew zipper under facings.
