The American Sewing Expo has been called the “Disneyworld” of sewing. Coats & Clark Dual Duty XP is the official thread sponsor and will be used throughout the show for contests and hands-on sewing experiences.
The show is packed with classes and seminars taught by national instructors, an exciting market of vendors but there is much, much more.
Contestants will compete in the Baby Lock Passion for Fashion Sewing Challenge during the three days of the show, culminating with a fashion show of their creations. Special guest and New York fashion designer, Kenneth King will entertain with a lively presentation at this event.
At the Re-construction Zone, you can bring an old pair of jeans and in just 30 minutes, walk away with a “Green Jeans” project. Junk Jeans Luveta Nichols will host the event.
While at the show, visit the Sew Experience Café and choose from a menu of attractive make-and-take projects, enjoy a cup of coffee and view sewing video clips.
The 2008 Art of the Quilt contest entries will be on display. This year’s theme is “A Touch of Magic”.
The Innovation Generation contest will culminate with a fashion show on Saturday. Contestants in this event are ages 8 to 18.
A drawing for Dream Sewing Room will be held at the show.
