SEW-IST SING PRAISES OF NEW COATS & CLARK SEWING THREAD
New Dual Duty XP® Receives Seal of Approval from Creative Home Arts Club
Sewing thread is sewing thread. Not so, says the participants of an independent test sponsored by Coats & Clark and Today’s Creative Home Arts.
Over 400 sewing and craft enthusiasts were selected to test, in their homes using a variety of sewing machines, the new Dual Duty XP® general purpose thread from Coats & Clark. The thread was given the Creative Home Arts Member Tested and Recommended Seal of Approval meaning the majority of testers agree; the thread represents their standards of quality and value plus carries their personal recommendations.
The new Dual Duty XP® is a polyester-wrapped core-spun thread made from a new and unique manufacturing process resulting in a precise, smooth thread perfect for today’s busy sewer. A new trap spool and color-coding system add to the sewer’s convenience.
According to Kathy Brown, a tester from Rochester, NH, “I used the thread on a quilting project and now I prefer it to the brand I was using. It is a great product.”
“Durable whether sewing by machine or hand, it did not tangle nor did it shred like other threads I have used,” said Sharon Spaulding from Hazel Park, MI.
Others commented about the variety of colors and weights. The new Dual Duty XP® general-purpose thread is a medium weight thread for most hand and machine sewing and is available in 302 colors. Fine comes in 22 colors and sews pucker-free seams in light-weight and silky fabrics and is ideal for lingerie, bridal/formal and heirloom sewing plus quilting for hand appliqué, piecing and stippling. Heavy is for upholstery, sewing on canvas, repairs, bold topstitching, cording and stitching hand-worked buttonholes and comes in 19 colors.
Doll sewing enthusiast Dina Wiley from Medford, OR said, “I sew a lot of doll clothes and it’s always in small areas. The thread made easy lines and the smallest of stitches smooth.”
“My mom told me, years ago, of the quality of Coats and Clark and this new thread keeps with that tradition, “said tester Michelle Fischer from Riverview, FL.
