PLACEMATCh 68.
Row 1 (Right Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 67 sc.
Row 2: Ch 3, skip first sc, dc in next sc; * skip next 2 sc, dc in next sc, ch 1, dc in first skipped sc (insert hook from the front while keeping thread at the back of the work as usual – this second dc will enclose the first dc) – crossed double made; rep from * to last 2 sc; dc in last 2 sc; turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st and sp across; sc in top of ch-3; turn.
Rep Rows 2 and 3 until 33 rows in all are completed, end Row 3; do not turn at end of last row.
Border-Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 49 sc down side to corner, ch 2, work 67 sc across lower edge to next corner, ch 2, work 49 sc up next side to corner, ch 2, work 67 sc across top edge, ch 2; join with a sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in first sc, * ch 4, skip next 2 sc, sc in next sc; rep from * to corner; ch 3, sc in ch-2 sp **, ch 3, sc in next sc; rep from * around, end at **; ch 1, hdc in first sc to join and form last sp.
