PLACEMAT
With CA, ch 58.
Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across, changing to CB in last st; turn – 56 sts.
Row 2: With CB, ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc and in each dc across, dc in top of ch-3; turn.
Rep Row 2 and work stripe pat of 1 more row CB, then [2 rows CA, 2 rows CB] 4 times, then 1 more row CA, changing to CC in last dc of last row. Cut CA and CB.
Border-Rnd 1: With CC, ch 1, work sc evenly around all 4 sides, working 3 sc in each corner; join with a sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, skip first sc, dc in each sc around, working 5 dc in center sc of each 3-sc corner group; join to top of ch-3.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining and in each dc around, working 3 sc in center dc of each 5-dc corner group; join.
Rnds 4-7: Rep Rnds 2 and 3 twice more, changing to CA in last sc of Rnd 7. Work 1 rnd sc with CA. Fasten off.

Cut CB.
Rnd 3: With CC, ch 3, dc in same st as joining, [dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc] twice; yo, insert hook from front to back to front around the post of the next cluster and draw lp through, [yo and draw through 2 lps on hook] twice – front post dc (fpdc) made; * 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc] twice, fpdc; rep from * around; join – 45 sts.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, skip first sc, dc in next sc and in each sc around; join with a sl st to top of ch-3.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same ch as joining and in each dc around; join and change to CA.
Rnd 4: With CA, ch 1, sc in each sc around; join. Fasten off.
Attach CA in rem lps of beg ch and work 1 rnd sc on opposite side; join. Fasten off. Weave in ends. With CB, make 1 star same as for placemat and sew to ring. |
